How to List a Product in Your Shop

To list a product in your shop:

1. On forstepstyle.com, sign in to your seller account. If you don’t have a seller account, create a new one (select I am a vendor)
2. Click Products.
3. Click Add New Product.

To a product in your shop:

1. On forstepstyle.com, sign in to your seller account. If you don’t have a seller account, create a new one.
2. Click Products.
3. Click Add New Product.

Then:
Step 1: Add product photos
Step 2: Set Product Name (Descriptive title is favorable)
Step 3: Add product price
Step 4: Describe your product
Step 5: Select product category
Step 6: Click ‘CREATE PRODUCT”
Step 7: Choose product type (single product / variable / group)
Step 8: Add your inventory and pricing
Step 9: Set up product shipping details
Step 10: Publish or save your product (pending review, needs approval by Forstep Style)

Can I bulk create listings?
Yes, you can. However, before you can start listing products in bulk, you must register as a seller. Review our Seller Policy to make sure your items fit into Forstep Style’s urban supply categories.

Add Product Details, Attributes, and Categories to a Product

Add details to your listing to help shoppers find your listing in search:

Your Product title
Give your product a descriptive title. What would buyers search for to find your item? Add the most searchable words at the front of your title (brand, model, color, occasion….)

Choose what type of product you are listing
The dropdowns under ‘category’ help categorize your product as Simple, Variable, External or Group product. Choose variable if you have multiple variables for same product (more sizes, colors)

Choose product categories
Choose which category your product belongs to. This decides which category your item appears in on the Categories page.

Think about where buyers would most likely look for your specific product. For instance, if you’re selling a sneaker, you might think of it as a shoe in general, but some shoppers will search in sneakers.

Use tags for the product
For most categories, using product tags is the best way to help customer find your product. However, if specific tags aren’t available to add in your product, you can choose from the available ones.

How to Use Attributes When Listing a Product

Listing attributes (color, size, material) allow you to describe your product with distinct, detailed characteristics to help buyers get a clear idea of what you’re selling. Attributes can also help buyers find your products more easily in search results.

How to choose attributes for your listing
When you list a new product on Forstep Style, the option to add attributes appears after creation of product and product’s category is chosen. The category you select for your product determines the attributes you can add for the item. Choose an attribute that best describes your product so your buyer can choose the right product to buy. For example, if you are selling a sneaker, you may need to add ‘size’ in attribute section. If you are selling sneaker model in multiple sizes & colors, add attribute ‘color’ as well.

What if an attribute doesn’t offer an option that I need for my product?

If you can’t find an exact match for your item, select the most relevant attributes available. Fill out both attributes and tags for your product to make sure potential buyers find and see your product listing.

For instance, let’s say you’re listing an oversized lime hoodie. However, the color “lime” isn’t a selectable option for the Color attribute. Choose the color that you think would be the closest to lime. You can select “Yellow” as your option for the Color attribute.

 

How to change attributes on published product?

To update attribute on already published (live) products:

  • Go to your seller dashboard – products
  • Select the product – edit
  • Scroll the attributes section – fill out as many as make sense for your product
  • Click ‘Save’ changes

How to Add Variations for Your Products

If you sell different options for a product within the same listing, you can add those options as variations. You can offer up to two types of variations for each listing. For example, if you sell a sneaker with different sizes and colors, you can specify these options in that sneaker listing’s variations.

How to add variations to a listing

  1. Click the product you like to edit or create
  2. From the product category dropdown, choose ‘variable’
  3. Scroll down to the ‘attributes and variations‘ section. Before you can add a variation, you need to add some variation attributes on the Attributes section
  4. A list of relevant attributes will automatically appear. Then, select one or more options from the attributes drop down menu. To include variations, select ‘used for variations‘ & ‘visible on the product page‘ under each attribute.
  5. From the variation dropdown, choose ‘add variation‘ or ‘create variations from all attributes
  6. Click ‘GO’ to create a single variation.
  7. Click ‘Save’

Varying on price

The price you set for each variation is the total price for each option of the product, not an additional cost.

How to add photos for each variation?

If this product varies on a visible attribute, such as color, you can add photos to visibly show that variation.

To add photos for your variations:

  • Click or create the product you’re interested in on the Products page.
  • Click Add photo at the top of the listing.
  • Select the photo(s) that you want to add to the listing.
  • Scroll down to ‘Attributes &Variations’. Add variations, if you haven’t already.
  • Select the variation you want to add photos for. You can choose one variation to link photos to. If you have more than 10 variations, you can only add photos for ten of these variations.
  • Click Save.

Do you charge Listing Fees?

Creating and renewing a listing on Forstep Style is completely free. There is no fee for adding a listing or editing a listing.

Normally, product listing expiries after one year. However, if our team detects no account activity, we can remove the listing without prior notice to you.

Can I Bulk Import Product Listings From My Website?

You can easily export or import product listings in CSV & XML format directly from your ecommerce store. So you can use your product data with any WordPress and WooCommerce compatible site. This feature will help you keep backups of product data and to upload data any time.

How to import product listings?

  • Log in to your vendor account.
  • Navigate to Vendor Dashboard→Tools.
  • Select the Import tab.
  • If you want to import your data and information as XML, just select your existing .xml file by clicking on Browse. Then click the Import button. Your product information would be restored shortly. However, you must restore the image files for the products folder manually.
  • To import your backed up products as CSV, click on the Import CSV button. Choose the CSV file from your computer you want to import and click on the Continue button.
  • On the next step, you will have to map columns and finally import. When the process is complete, you will get a confirmation message. Now you can check your products on the listing page.

Updating or Deleting a Product Listing

Why is my product listing inactive?

Here are some of the most common reasons you may not be able to locate a listing which was previously active in your shop:

  • Your listing expired
  • You might set the product listing as a draft
  • The product sold out
  • Product is against our publishing rules or violating policy standards. (Check your email inbox for a message from Forstep Style. If you cannot find an email from us, check your spam or junk mail. If you can’t find a relevant email, or the email you received is from [email protected], get in touch with our Customer Support by clicking Contact support at the bottom of this page.

How to delete a product listing?

If you no longer sell a product, you can delete the product from your shop. Deleted product can’t be recovered. If you’d like to remove a published product without deleting it, you can set the product status as draft and chose visibility ‘hidden’

To delete a product:

  1. Login to your vendor dashboard.
  2. Click Products.
  3. Check the product(s) you want to delete and click ‘Delete Permanently’. Or
  4. In bulk actions area, Click Delete Permanently at the top of the page.

 

Bulk Editing / Editing a product listing

You can easily edit any product(s) at any time. While you’re editing, remember that the current version of your listing is still available to shoppers. Quick Edit feature won’t work on products with variations on price or quantity. To change these, edit your product individually.

Hiding a product listing

To hide a product:

  1. Login to your vendor dashboard.
  2. Click Products.
  3. Select the product you want to edit
  4. Navigate to ‘Other Options
  5. Change product status to ‘draft‘ and visibility to ‘hidden
  6. Click Save

How to Open a Shop on Forstep Style

Registration for sellers is free. To open a shop on Forstep Style:

  • Select Register to register for an account on ForstepStyle.com
  • Select ‘I am a vendor/I want to open a shop’
  • Fulfil the required fields, such as Your Shop Name
  • Click ‘Register

Choose your shop name

Choose a memorable name that reflects your brand style. Shop names must meet the following requirements:

  • No spaces or special characters
  • No profanity
  • Not already in use by an existing member
  • Does not infringe on another’s trademark

You’ll always be able to make changes to your shop after its open. The web address to get to your shop will be ‘https://www.forstepstyle.com/shop/yourshopname

 

Setting Up The Multi-Step Wizard (Verification)

Multi-step Wizard is a step-by-step wizard that helps sellers easily set up their shops on Forstep Style.

This step is a necessary verification that will ensure us that verified sellers are registering in the marketplace. If you register a shop for the first time, you will get the opportunity of using this simple wizard which is great step by step guideline to set up your shop easily. (For sneaker resellers, the verification process more complex and is taking longer since it’s a subject of manual approve)

After clicking ‘Let’s Go!’ button, the wizard takes you to the store setup page where you might have to provide following details about your shop:

  • How many products will be showed in your store
  • Your shop address and other relevant information. Be sure to select the correct country for your shop. (*You can skip this step, but you have to include this information later from you Store Setting page.)

In addition, you can define whether you want to display your email address in the store or not. When are you done, click on the Continue button.

The next step is to connect your payment account to accept payments. Currently, we require sellers to have a valid PayPal account in order to sell on Forstep Style. (*You can skip this step, but you need to include this information later in order to accept payments.)

Can I Permanently Delete My Seller Account?

As a user, you have the option to permanently close and delete your account by contacting our customer servce. Permanently deleting your seller account can’t be undone.

If you don’t want your account to be permanently closed and deleted, you may consider:

  • Closing your  shop: If you want to close your shop and continue buying on Forstep Style, you have an option to close your shop instead of your entire account. You can reopen your shop at any time.

How to permanently delete your seller account

Before you permanently delete your vendor account, check that:

    • You have no amount due in your payment account
    • You have fulfilled all your orders
    • You have resolved all your refund & return cases
    • You have saved any information you need for tax or record keeping purposes
    • You will not want to use the account’s email address in another Etsy account.

How To Change Your Password?

For already logged in users, to change your password:

  1. On ForstepStyle.com, click the ‘My Account‘ icon.
  2. Click Account settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Password section and fill out your current password, new password and confirmation of your new password.
  4. Click Change Password.

You’ll be prompted to sign in to your account again using your email and new password. Depending on the security settings, you may also need to enter the confirmation code sent to your phone to sign in.

For sign out users, to change your password:

  1. On My Account page, click ‘Lost Your Password’
  2. Type your email address in the field and we will send you an email with instructions on how to set up a new password.

You’ll be prompted to sign in to your account again using your email and new password. Depending on the security settings, you may also need to enter the confirmation code sent to your phone to sign in.

I Can’t Sign In to My Seller Account

If you’re having issues with signing in to your seller account, you can reset your password:

There are a few other reasons why you might not be able to access your seller account:

  1. Two factor authentication (SMS or Email verification) fail
  2. Your seller account has been closed

If you tried to login to your seller account, but you’ve recently changed your phone number and/or phone verification settings within your seller account, sign in using our email verification method.

If you tried to login to your seller account, but you don’t have your phone nearby to check the SMS verification code, please contact our Customer Support by scrolling to the bottom of this page and click ‘Contact Support’.

Your seller account has been closed

If your account was suspended due to violations of our policy or problems with orders, respond directly to the email sent by us about this violation. If your account was permanently suspended, contact our Customer Support for more information.
